Devon always dreamed of becoming a journalist. And while he was in college, that dream looked hopeful. Indeed, he built up quite the resume.
But after college, he found himself weighed down under massive student loan debt and unable to find a steady job. Even when he wrote articles as a freelancer, he only earned $100 per article – far from enough to pay even the most basic of bills, much less pay back his student loans.
So now he looks to the U.S. Army for hope. This is his story.
