I am a freelance writer and blogger and a former financial wreck who only learned how to manage money after facing post-grad-school underemployment, owing nearly $100,000 in debt, and being chained to a money pit of a house that I couldn't sell. I used my time at the job I hated to listen to hundreds of hours of personal finance podcasts. With that, I slowly learned how to manage my money better and eventually started freelance writing to save up money and pay off debt. I now use my blog, The Notorious D.E.B.T., to show people how I'm cutting costs, making money, and saving it in order to afford the life that my husband and I want in the future.
